Heya! I admit I’ve been shopping quite a bit lately ( oops! ). A few basics, a few backups, and a few new things. Here’s all the things I got and a few first impressions.
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster. It seems I’m forever on the lookout of a good serum. I haven’t found one so far despite the fact I’ve tried a few. I saw this one on Sephora and remembered reading some good reviews about the brand, even though not specifically about the serum. But I thought I’d give it a go. My verdict so far – it smells loads of citrusy goodness, my skin drinks it like no other and feels smooth afterwards. It’s early days to say whether the serum works. But so far so good!
I used to be so obsessed to nail polish, I changed it out every 2-3 days, but as life gets busier by the day I just never bothered. But recently I’m falling into nail polish mood and grabbed a few new ones from Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure range – one of my favorites currently. I also grabbed some Essie, Watermelon and Hide & Go Chic ( this last one came from my Bella Box ). Love all of them!
I grabbed two things from Lee Stafford’s Argan Oil range, the Deep Nourishing Treatment and Nourishing Conditioner. This range is hands down one of my favorite hair products. The scent is just amazing and it works wonders! I usually go straight for the hair mask and never really cared about conditioner, but I went for it too this time coz the bottle packaging is a lot easier to travel with.
Next thing I picked up was Yes To Coconut Hydrate & Restore cleansing wipes. I’ve heard so many good things about this brand, so I’m kind of curious. I think it would be great for on-the-go or for those days when I can’t be bothered!
Aside from all those things, I also picked up a few basics – a few Original Source shower gels, taking advantage of the half-price deal they were having at the time. This brand has some of the loveliest and most unique scents. They have another one at the store, Vanilla & Raspberry which I’ve tried before but didn’t get coz it was too sweet for me. Instead I grabbed a big bottle of Lime which is my favorite one and the scents I’ve never tried before.
Okay, that’s quite a few. I think I’m pretty well stocked up for a while now!
Lately I have been toying around with the idea of pocket scrapbooking. I have tried the digital version but I was never really interested in actual ( aka physical ) pocket scrapbooking coz I thought it would be quite expensive to buy the supplies, albums, journaling cards, embellishments etc. But it struck me, I haven’t done much scrapbooking lately and I didn’t really have to stuck with embellishments specifically made for pocket scrapbooking. I could just make my own with the supplies I have at home. After all, they are sitting untouched! And I really needed a way to quickly catch up with documenting my pictures from the holidays we’ve taken and events happening over the past few years. I really enjoy making handmade books, but pocket scrapbooking seems like a more time-efficient solution for that purpose at this point ( well, I hope I’m right! ). I started browsing online for supplies, and was very delighted when I found Scrap Boutique was having a half-yearly clearance. Perfect timing!
I opted for We R Memory Keepers 8.5″ x 11″ albums, I thought 12″ x 12″ would be too huge. And I was right. I was quite surprised that the one I ordered was bigger than I thought it would be, so I can’t imagine going for 12″ x 12″! I chose mint and coral and had to really resist not buying a third one coz the color selection was just amazing. However seeing how thick they are, I think I’m good with two for now, it would take some time to fill them up!
Next things I grabbed were a few packs of page refills in varying pocket sizes so I’ll have different options to play with. I also grabbed a bunch of alpha stickers and they also kindly included a Kaisercraft stamp set and Amy Tangerine sticker set as gifts. How lovely!
A few months back, I also grabbed a ton of Kaisercraft paper pads and collectables from Andy & Belle taking advantage of the huge sale they had. Kaisercraft always have pretty collections and it’s easily available here coz it’s an Australian brand. And getting them at a bargain is sweet!
I’m now drown in supplies! And so excited to play with them all, even though it might be some time, coz I’ll be traveling all month next month. Which if I may say, is another good reason for this haul!
A few weeks ago, I found out about Oyatsu Cafe and I was excited to see the nice selection of Japanese snack and drinks. I made my first purchase and was pleasantly surprised that shipping took only a little more than a week. They offer worldwide shipping, which works great for those like me who don’t have access to Japanese stuff easily. And here’s what I got!
Pocky Panda – $2.79
I love Pocky. I could possibly eat five boxes at one go if I let myself. But I’ve never tried any of the “fancy” flavors mainly because of the price. I’m happy I finally braced myself and tried this one, because it so much better than the “normal” chocolate and strawberry Pocky I normally get at the supermarket. I don’t think I need to point out the cute packaging – that alone got me really excited. Then when I opened it, I found a chocolate biscuit covered with cookies and cream topping. Deliciousness! It’s seriously so good! I definitely need try other flavors now!
Van Houten White Matcha Cocoa – $4.99
This is another hit. Both D and I enjoy this one so much. It has a strong and sweet scent of white chocolate, and i think the combination of white chocolate and matcha works really well – it taste delicious! It’s the perfect hot drink to have for a cold day!
Maxim Oreo Cappucino – $3.49
I had high expectation – I mean, oreo cappucino? It sounds so good, right? Unfortunately I’m rather disappointed with this one. Its smell does remind me a little bit of Oreo at first, though upon several tries, I think it is just a plain chocolate smell. In truth I think it taste quite good, but I like my coffee strong and this one tastes light and sweet, if nothing else. So even though it is a nice change from the coffee I’m used to, I won’t be repurchasing this.
Blendy Stick Royal Milk Tea – $4.99
This last one contains 10 packets, a lot more than the first two which only contain five each so it’s better value for money. It’s a milk tea drink and it tastes really good – coming from someone who isn’t really into tea so that means it is indeed good! It doesn’t top the Van Houten, but a close second.
L’Occitane Australia was giving away free Shea Butter Hand Cream as part of their Facebook campaign some time ago and of course I didn’t want to miss out and registered as soon as I had the chance. On top of that, they offered 15% off everything when you claim the hand cream, so I snatched at that opportunity to get a couple of stuff.
I decided to grab a couple of new body moisturizers. My pick were Rose Aurore Radiant Body Milk and Shea Butter Mango Flower Ultra Rich Body Cream, both smell so wonderful! ( I also got a couple of things for someone else, so that explains the other full-size stuff ). When I got to the cashier however, the lady that assisted me said I could get a gift set if I purchase a bottle of perfume. So yeah, I ended up with a new perfume as well! I went for Pivoine Flora Intense Eau de Toilette Roll-On because it was the lightest on my wallet and I didn’t want to invest on a huge bottle of perfume that would take forever to finish ( although I’m now questioning that decision ).
And that gift set was valued at $30 and it was a really nice set with soap, shower gel, body milk and hand cream and a cosmetic pouch, I would definitely get a good use out of it. Excuses, excuses..
